Will Thomas, the Spanglish Wrangler, grew up mono-culturally in Alabama and Florida in the nineteen seventies. He majored in Spanish and History in college which sparked an interest in Latin America, leading to a career in business with the region and travel to every Spanish-speaking country in the world by age thirty. After settling in Miami he picked up the guitar and began learning childhood favorites by Hank Williams, Sr. and the Commodores (OK maybe Alabama isn’t so mono-cultural after all). Will’s early recordings took him from the Bluebird Café in Nashville and the Mercury Lounge in New York to club tours in Italy and Scandinavia. Will’s two children put a stop to such touring and gave birth to the Spanglish Wrangler: songs in English and Spanish for the whole family.
